​Jacqueline was professionally trained as a fine artist at the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University. She received her bachelor’s degree in fine arts and psychology, and went on to obtain her Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling at the Adler University.

 

Through working in an inpatient psychiatric facility for 6+ years, Jacqueline has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who have been diagnosed with anxiety, ADHD, behavior, PTSD, mood, and addiction disorders. She is attentive to working through issues such as grief/loss, self-injurious behaviors, terminal illness, and the effects of suicide. Jacqueline promotes healing, relaxation, and recovery through CBT and art therapy based interventions.

Jacqueline’s has extensive knowledge in working collaboratively with schools and families to better support a child's needs. Her family based work promotes positive functioning in the home and academic setting. Jacqueline has led trainings for clinicians and counselors on how to cope with school related anxiety. She has a specific focus in working with families struggling with school refusal behaviors and provides support to the family system through a “positive parenting” and intervention based approaches.
